That Familiar Curl
Thank god discussion is over! Will went out to scout. He borrowed New Guy's ring. Turns out that little trinket lets him become invisible. I had something similar once. . . but I don't like talking about it. So Will went out to see if he could tell where the demons were coming from and New Guy sent his pet rock along. That was a mistake. The rock comes back and was shouting and may have led demons right to us. Will wasn't back yet and I was getting impatient. So I crept my way out of the bowels of the building we were holed up in, listened real good first, and then got closer to the door. I took a peek outside. Nothing. So I started walking away, when all the light in the room started dimming. The hair on the back of my neck tensed. My heart was just hammering and I could feel that familiar curl of excitement in my belly from the rush of danger and adventure.

Slowly I turned and horrors! A big nasty spider. I think it had been hovering over the doorway. Well, bugger me! The thing clicked its pincers and then shot this goo at me, which I avoided, of course. I tumbled back and down the hole leading to our haven. Gasping out a warning, I rolled off Anwar, who was kind enough to break my fall, and I see New Guy sticking his head up out the hole. Then his legs started kicking before he was schlooped away. Islan made to climb up when there was a flash and a wave of heat and fire shot over the opening. I guess New Guy can do the thing Jacques did when he got us out of the acid bathroom, because suddenly he was on the ground in front of us covered in spiderwebs. Isn't this the second time his big head got us into trouble now? Anwar starts cutting at the insanely sticky webbing while Islan and I scramble back to the upper level to face off with the beastie. I hate spiders. Too many legs and too hairy. But I stuck him good. I'd usually clean my sword on the body of the kill but demons dissolve when they're killed. Tried to get Islan to let me use his cloke, but he wasn't having any of that.

Finally, Will returns and says the demons are hanging out at this temple that's next to the big one in the middle of the city. He talks about carcuses, mangled bits of meat, a waterfall of blood. Basically, the demons are just making themselves at home and having a damn fine time of it. New Guy says he's going to take out the alter and then we need to come in to finish off what's left of the creatures. Wouldn't have been a half bad plan if New Guy hadn't have overestimated his powers. And the thickness of the stone. So instead of destroying the whole temple, just blowing it sky high, he made a crater and got the attention of all the demons in the vicinity. Got the crap beat out of him for his oversight. Honestly though, the spell he used was pretty impressive, kinda ineffective, but impressive.

The next thing we see must have been the like the demon general here or something. It was a huge ape-pig thing with heavily muscled arms and two big tusks. And Anwar, I don't think I've ever seen her fight like that, at least before I stopped paying attention to the battle. FrostFang was there, but he didn't look like himself. Or rather, he looked exactly like himself if he had a body. And he was wielding himself, the sword he was trapped in. He was disappointed in me. He was mad because he thought I left him. I didn't understand. He should know that I would never leave him voluntarily. I tried to explain, to make him remember. I didn't leave him. He threw me away. Literally.

When I came around, the demons were gone. I got a glance at this random woman, but then she disappeared too. We have to meet Sseth soon. Will said he'd take us to Sellador. Joy. Go from slaying demons to being thought of as one. This is one adventure I think I could do without.
