| The nations in the shadow of the Atman Empire |
The term "scattered kingdoms" refers to the dozen or so autonomous regions that existed prior to the fall of the Atman Empire.
In the modern area these lands are known as the "shattered kingdoms".
The term was originally used in a derisive manner during a political speech of the young Atman senate, though over the years the term came to occupy a position of officiality. Eventually, even the peoples living in these lands would use this term to refer to themselves.
