| Ethera Finds Peace. |
| Always let the fighter walk down the creepy tunnel first. |
We finally have arrived at Stonebridge, drenched from rain but we made it. It was an empty ruin, not a person or animal to be seen except for us. Grizzlegast and Eoin stayed with the wagon while the rest of us began our search. There wasnt much left of the town, most buildings were collapsed or as good as. We did find one building that Groehl sensed a darkness from. I went in first to look around and found nothing but a spider web filled ruin and a mudslide that led underground. I knew better than to go in alone so I rejoined the others and we headed down.
It was a narrow tunnel and I soon knew I made the right choice in not going alone. We were attacked by so very big and nasty spiders. Spiders the size of dogs came out of the ceiling and advanced on us. Well we made short of them and decided to keep going. Groehl led the way this time, bad luck for him.
When Groehl tried to walk through a doorway he ran face first into a spider web that was stronger than it looked, Groehl couldn't move. That when we saw an enormous spider leg poke out from the top of the door way. Lochlan in an amazing show of strength ripped Groehl from the web tearing it to pieces. With that we rushed into the room, some of us suffering blows from our hidden enemy. Once I managed my way in I saw the biggest spider I have ever seen or ever hope to see. It was huge! It was at least 6 times Lochlan's size and its fangs were like short swords. This was a hard fight.
We all suffered injuries from the montrous spider, and it took most of Groehl and Gim's healing talent to keep us alive. In the end Kano was the one who dealt the death blow. After the spider died we were visited by Ethera, Uthren's deceased wife. She told us of Moriacca, his pet spiders, and his search for the passphrase to enter the Lich King's Vault. The Lich King, Nolugar the Reaver, kept many terrible secrets and powers hidden in his vault and if Moriacca ever gained access to them horrors would be unleashed.
She told us that three members of the party that killed the Lich King survived and each one now a piece of the phrase. Moriacca is searching for them. I think we may have found our next journey. As much as I complained before this adventure of ours is getting rather intrigueing. Ethera also restored the power of Uthren's Charge, that would be the sword I have been carrying. Now I can't complain at all, where else would I get a magic sword that can burn and injury ghosts. After we talked Ethera rested now that Uthren and her souls were no longer tormented.
We exited the tunnel and rejoined Eoin and Grizzlegast. Now to head for Cobblepot. Maybe we will meet Gim's parents. He sure doesn't seem happy 'bout that. |
