Lochlan's Brother
Don't get into a drinking contest with a cheating barbarian
After a long journey we have finally arrived in the gnomish city of Cobblepot. Its a strange city and seems to be built on a subterranian city of connected basements. I can see how the Society for Unannounced Acquisitions makes a living with this mess of ever changing streets. I'd be surprised if the builders themselves didn't get lost from time to time.

We stayed at a place named someone's smokehouse and Lochlan began his search for anyone who knew his brother, Bruness. During the evening we met a barbarian, whose name we later learned to be Iron Gut or Iron Fist depending on who you were talking to. We decided to dare Gim into talking to him and one thing led to another and the drinking contest between all of us against Iron Gut began. Having already had a drink of some potent desert juice Lochlan and I were already feeling it, so its not surprising that he and I quickly found the table and floor a comfortable place for a nap. What was surprising and most of this I learned later was how much Gim can actually drink. Have to give him credit, the little gnome can out drink most dwarves I know.

I woke the next day to a pounding headache and that a taste...well if you ever have done what I did that night you know what how I felt. Grizzlegast apparently had seen getting us to rooms and brought breakfast, can't say that I appreciated that later of the two very much. It took over a week to get us completely recovered. Iron Gut apparently being a generous winner payed for our rooms out of his winnings, he could afford to with the fortuned we lost to him. It was later I learned he was using magic to cheat us, clever brute.

Well back to business. The weapons and equipment shops are well supplied here for both those the size of gnomes and bigger folk. It was here that Lochlan found his brother, more like ran into him, literally. He was running from some members of the SUA, three of em to be exact. He had a second to say something to Lochlan before he ran off again. Now Lochlan being Bruness' twin ended up being mistaken for his brother by these three idiots. As the theme of our adventures continues steel settled the issue. We had a fight I knifed on in the back and Gim somehow captured another, Im still trying to understand how. The third ran off before we could stop him, which didn't make me very happy.

We turned over the captured thief to a city gaurd and began heading back to our inn, all along the way I getting more nervous about things. The thieves pay the city, the city pays the gaurds, and the gaurd catch the thieves. A better situation for corruption couldn't be hoped for. Since we told the gaurd where we were staying we agreed it would be safer to seek shelter else where, but Im getting ahead of myself first we went to Froggy's.

We stayed that night at the smoke house and went to Froggy's the next day. Bruness asked Lochlan to meet him there at 9 bells. When we reached the bar Lochlan entered first to appear alone. The rest of us followed a few moments later. Gims acted as our spy this time, while Groehl and I took seats at the bar. I tried to watch for any of the grey cloaks we heard the thieved all wear but I didnt notice anything. Once Lochlan and Bruness were done talking, Bruness left. Now it was time to find a new place to stay. Gim was dreading this because we were heading for his parents house, this should be fun.
