Loot And Then Give Maddy The Boot!
We finally received treasure from the town and found more hidden by Maddy.
Shortly thereafter the fight was finished I noticed Maddy out of the corner of my eye with a lightning bolt pointed directly at the group. I then pointed directly back at her in an attempt to say I can counter whatever you decide to do. Just then Hurgood and his wife came into the house we were staying at and talked Maddy out of doing whatever it was that she was thinking of doing. Lochlan, Gim, and Rorrin were all in need of Maddy’s healing so I really shouldn’t have threatened her back but nonetheless she agreed to heal them all. Except for the fact that, she only had two spells so Gim agreed to go back with her until she prayed for her spells. I worried for his safety but he assured me he’d be ok.

I then decided that I’d try my best to heal the townsfolk from the injuries that they had sustained throughout their battle with themselves. I called out for as much power as I could and with the help from Lochlan’s Aura I was able to heal every person in town. In doing so I completely drained myself and was in much need for sleep. It was at this time where I worried again for Gim, but alas there was nothing I could do in my shape.

The next morning Gim and Maddy came back to us…although Maddy did nothing more than drop off Lochlan’s spear and drag away the carcass that she was promised. After a short discussion a greedy Grizzlegast brought up the fact that Maddy more than likely dropped off the spear because she didn’t want us to go back to the place and look for it. Quickly we realized that we should probably head back to the house to find whatever treasure that she might have been hiding. Just then a knock on the door revealed a majority of the townsfolk coming up one by one and dropping off items that they felt we deserved after helping the town the way we did. We gratefully accepted and even cut in Grizzlegast of the treasure that we earned.

Once the people stopped coming to the door we headed out to the house. Gim was upset that the only reason we were going there was for treasure but he tagged along anyways. After reaching the house I decided that this time I’d try swimming without my armor on, which seemed like a logical decision. Gim then decided he was not going to enter the house so I put him in charge of watching my armor.

We carefully made our way back down to the room where that beast made an illusion. It was not a couple minutes into our decent and Gim came bustling down the stairs screaming about some pirates or whatever. It really made no difference now that we’re down there so we continued on. Finally, we made it to the room with no problem only to notice a large collection of various coins on the end where once an illusion was. We convinced Gim to go tie a rope for us on the other end and while he made his way over Maddy revealed herself and her intentions.

Quickly she started sending earthquakes under my feet and throwing lightning bolts in our vicinity. Without my armor on I was easily able to dodge most of her attacks. I was even able to send a few spiritual weapons from away and attack her while she was in the water. While they weren’t dealing great amounts of damage they were slowly slicing away at her. Just as she was getting close to death she transformed into a bear but it was too late because my weapons had bled her too much. We all jumped in and grabbed all the items and gold at the bottom. I mentioned that I needed my armor so we headed back out of the house. We saw the pirate ship on shore this time and realized that we’d need to be quiet when exiting. It was not two steps out and suddenly Grizzlegast fell and dropped gold coins from underneath his shirt. This alerted the pirates to our position which was not the most intelligent of plans.
