Druid Duo
Those were some big bears
Today was interesting indeed. The day started out easy enough we broke camp and traveled along the road towards Topholme. For the most part everyone was in good spirits and excited to reach Citadel. I had a mix of excitement and anxiety since I knew I may fulfilling my debt to the church of Throrn soon.

Now its no uncommon to find camps on the side of the road since so many people travel to and from Topholme. It was when we found a camp in disaster that we knew something was wrong. It looked as if there had been an attack. I checked around the campsite to see if I could tell what happened. After searching tracks and what not I figured it had to be three dwarfs that were attacked by two very large animals. Gim said that they were bears. None of us had ever seen bear tracks that big around here. We could only assume the bears attacked and carried off the dwarves.

What a twisted turn of luck. After all we have been through we are less than a days walk to Topholme and we have to stumble into more trouble. Normally I would have said its not our business but since in was dwarves that were attacked and so near my home I felt compelled to look into it. After some tracking and a muddy climb up a ridge we found their den.

These had to be the biggest bear I have ever seen! They looked diseased. They had been clawing their own faces leaving them covered in bloody cuts and gashes. When they came out of their den snarling I ready for a hard fight. But the fight never came.

Derrinar and Gim put their skills to the test. The two druids combined their efforts to calm the beasts and communicate with them. Have to admit I cant imagine what a conversation with a bear must be like but they did it and found the cause of the problem. There was some orb of nothingness in their cave. I realy have to no clue what it was but everyone who new anything about magic said it was evil. Groehl stowed it in his pack and thats fine with me. I have learned to avoid handling any objects considered evil.

Gim and Derrinar were adament that we not kill the bears and honestly even though the animals killed three dwarven travelers I had to agree. Their only following their nature after all. Onward to Topholme was all cared about at that point.

Ah Topholme how I have missed you. Actually I have missed all of the dwarven realm. Its just good to be home. I veered off from the group since they were heading for the local church of Throrn. I want a chance to enjoy being home before I speak with them. I am not afraid of my fulfilling my debt. I just want a chance to take care of some other things first. For one there is a guild in Citadel that I need look up.

Gim and Hunter came with me and we headed for the best inn we could find. I felt like spending some money and since I am finally returning home I wanted to celebrate. On an occasion I can be generous. The inn was perfect. Hot bath good food and good drink. I sent one of the inns boy to tell the others where we were staying.

Later in the evening when I we were relaxing in the main room two drunks wondered in. Gim overheard them talking about some lost contest. I joined in buying them a few drinks to loosen their tongues. Turns out our old friend Iron Gut is in town. Guess we get a chance to settle a score here. I grabbed my armor and weapons just in case and we headed to the tavern where they told he would be. Gim said he could use magic to be immune to the alchohal but we would have to wait till tomorrow so we planned on challenging him to a drinking contest tomorrow night.

To make a long story short...this entry is getting rather long winded and I want to get some sleep...we found Iron Gut and he agreed to meet us tomorrow in the same bar at the same time. This should be interesting.
