Whats Wrong Boy?
A fork in the road
While the rest of my friends sign their lives over to the adventures guild, I decided to spend a little time with Kano. It had been a while since the two of us had talked so after a quick speak with animals spell I took some time to chat with him.

Gim: Hey Kano, I know its been a while since we got to chat but boy have we been busy huh?

Kano: Yes, I guess so...

Gim: *looking at the vast cavern* Can you believe we finally made it here? After all this time! Isnt it the most incredible thing you have ever seen?

Kano: *looking around half heartedly* Its very... dark.

Gim: Well, yeah it is kind of dark, but look how much care the people have taken to live as one with the mountain, I have never seen so much love and devotion for ones home.

Kano: *sniffs* The air is stale...

Gim: *looking thoughtfully at his friend* I know.... this isnt your home... I wanted so badly to stay together that I never considered how miserable you would be here.

Kano: No grass to lie in, no snow to roll in, and no sun to warm me... this is not home.

Gim: *pets Kano on his head* I know boy... (Gim sniffs and wipes a small tear away)

Kano: You like it here, yes? This is your new home, yes?

Gim: When I walked in through the gates and saw the statue, I knew this is what nature had called me too. The great dwarf protecting his people, protecting his young. Ive never seen a more perfect display of the natures spirit in the hearts of people.

Kano: Will we always be friends Gim?

Gim: Always Kano, we will always be brothers

Kano: I will return to our masters land, I will guard it from being destroyed.

Gim: Thank you my brother, I know his spirit will always be in that place, watching over you; and I too shall watch from a distance. If the spirit of the earth ever leads me back to the Gnomish lands, perhaps we shall once again adventure together, but I will not hold you against your will, you are free my brother.

Kano: Thank you my brother... If the spirit of the earth permits we shall see each other again.

Gim: But if not, we will meet in death as we become one again with the earth.

With that Kano got up, circled me twice and licked my outstretched hand as I patted him on the head for the last time. As he walked off I called out to him to be safe, if he understood I do not know since the spell had come to its end.

Alone

I am truly all alone....
