Why Learn Basics When You Know Fireball
Meeting back up with Ezmerelda and joining a new adventuring guild
It started out as a pretty typical morning with performing my morning prayers and gathering myself up to set off for the days adventures except for this morning we were heading into the beautifully crafted stone halls of Citadel. Soon enough I’d be home in Dannag’Mor. It was not a block away from my inn where we stayed the night before when we ran into Brunis who was locked in a stockade. It was at this moment where my thoughts turned to Lochlan who I never forgot about even though to help ease the troubled minds that forgot of him I played along.

While I composed myself to fire away a few questions about Lochlan and the letter we found from Brunis, Gim started asking a multitude of questions and how Brunis got here and why we was in the stocks to begin with. After a brief discussion with him it was obvious that his mind was not right but that he knew of Lochlan and that somehow he knew of the bald female elf that destroyed our ship and apparently “saved” our life that day. I tried to gather information about her name or what powers she had but to no my questions were to no avail since he kept referencing the note he wrote as though it made sense to begin with. No matter if he was sane or not I decided to try and use my pull to ask for him to be taken into custody under my control. The guard mentioned something about having dimensional handcuffs for just such a situation since Brunis had been know to escape from jail before. After asking Brunis about that he let me know that it was indeed the elf that performed that act. With more confusion about the situation I decided that he would be in good care here and told the guards if there was any change for them to tell the local church of Throrn to get a hold of me. For now we left and took our leave into the depths of Citadel.

After two hours of travel we came to the first stopping point that was mainly for tourists of all kinds. Basically, there was nothing worth purchasing here but there was some beauty and history to be admired which Gim started to do immediately. He soaked in the knowledge of the locals and was even able to repeat back to me lessons he had learned from them. If it was for the fact that he was boasting about the many triumphs of Citadel I might have become bored with him, but since I enjoyed the topic I listened to what he had to say. If only he were so enthralled with Throrn as I am perhaps he would finally learn the ability to cast a decent divine spell.

Just them Shimada was tackled around his legs by a little girl. I was a little surprised that his legs buckled the way he did given the size of the young girl but he’s kind of female himself when it comes to his frame. As I peered around him I saw Esmeralda who was hugging his leg and started telling us all about her wizards training and how happy she was to see us etc. Frankly, I wasn’t that interested in the conversation with the young girl since she was just an arcane user now but I showed interest for her sake. The others seemed greatly pleased with all that she had learned and were eager to see the progress that she displayed.

He master then appeared out of breath huffing and puffing something about Esmeralda running off. I didn’t really understand why he blamed her for running off since he was the one who was in charge of her. Personally, I thought it was his fault for letting her escape him… I mean she’s just a child. But for now we decided we had lots to discuss and since he had a shop in Dannag’Mor I felt that staying with him for the moment would be fine.

The store was full with many a little random spell component that appeared quite useless and silly to me. Either way I appreciated his hospitality and decided to make the best of the evening by discussing the shard and note a little further. Again Shimada lectured me on how the orb was not evil and that he was certain that those from Throrn will all stubborn morons. Granted he insulted me and my clan in a round about way but nonetheless he will be dealt with in time. In the store we pretty much came up with the same conclusions that we needed to head to the eastern mines to find more answers. One interested option that was brought up was there was a local adventuring group that could be joined that would give information and guides to Citadel and contained most of the adventurers from Citadel.

For the night I slept and thought over the many new and exciting quests that would be waiting for us in this adventurer’s guild. I woke early and prayed for my spells and left with the group to go sign up group. Our name of course was registered as The Shield Of Citadel. It’s a strong name and after reviewing the rules for admittance it appeared as though I’ll be climbing the ranks pretty quickly in here and enjoyed the rewards for all my hard work. Finally, my superiority will be recognized, For THRORN!
