Bal-Anhgath, The FireSoul
Orcish Iron Blade Fueled by Rage
Cold Iron Greatsword +1 Menacing / Furious (Flaming)
Value: 13100 gp

Description:
This greatsword of orcish make is obviously very ancient and encrusted with fragments of stone, rust, and earth, having been pulled from where it was burried beneath a landlide and never having been properly cleaned. The black blade beneath is relatively unadorned save for ancient orcish runes bearing its name, Bal-Anhgath, the FireSoul.

Magical Properties
The blade's properties change with the state of its weilder. When the wielder is raging or under the effect of a rage spell the properties under the "raging" section are used. If not, the properties under the "normal" section are used.

Normal:
+1 menacing weapon

The menacing weapon property helps allies deal with flanked foes. When the wielder is adjacent to a creature that is being flanked by an ally, the flanking bonus on attack rolls for all flanking allies increases by +2. This ability works even if the wielder is not one of the characters flanking the creature.

When critically hit in combat the wilder of the blade is subject to a rage spell (Will save DC 10 + 1/2 damage received negates). If the wielder is able to rage as per the barbarian rage ability they are instead forced into barbarian rage for 1d4 rounds.

When leaving barbarian rage the wielder of the blade is not subject to the usual fatigue effect.

Raging:
+1 furious weapon

A furious weapon serves as a focus for its wielder’s anger. When the wielder is raging or under the effect of a rage spell, the weapon’s enhancement bonus is +2 better than normal. If the wielder has a rage power that gives a skill bonus while raging (such as raging climber, raging leaper, or raging swimmer), the wielder gains an enhancement bonus to that skill whenever the weapon is wielded or held in hand, even when not raging; this bonus is equal to the enhancement bonus of the weapon (including the +2 when the wielder is raging).

As a free action a character with the rage ability, such as a barbarian, can expend a round of rage duration to add the flaming weapon property to the blade for one round. A flaming weapon is sheathed in fire that deals an extra 1d6 points of fire damage on a successful hit. The fire does not harm the wielder. The effect remains until another command is given.
