This spell imbues a creature with the power of an elemental plane, changing their form and temporarily giving them the powers of the element creature template (as described in Manual of the Planes). The type of elemental (fire, air, earth, or water) is chosen at the time of the spells casting, and this spell then counts as having the elemental descriptor of that type. The spell recipient is allowed a fortitude save to negate the spell effect, if they so desire.

Creatures that already have an elemental descriptor, such as a fire genasai, cannot benifit from this spell unless their new elemental shape has the same element type as that creature. Thus, a fire genasai could gain the element creature (fire) template, but not the element creature (earth) template by means of this spell. Elementals and creatures native to the inner planes are immune to this spell.

Note that with the exception of hit die type and languages spoken, the creature gains all abilities and powers presented in the element creature template.

The material componets for this spell depend on the type of element used. When praying for this spell, an element of the appropriate type must be present. A campire would suffice for elemental shape (fire), a good wind for (air), a handful of earth for (earth), and a supped handful of water for (water).
