Goblin
The ever present and resourceful goblin
Goblins are small humanoids standing anywhere from 3 to 4½ feet tall. Their skin is mottled green or brown, and their faces often appear cruel or sardonic, mouths full of fangs, pointed ears, and cruel brows.

At their worst goblins are cruel and sadistic, toying with their prey until their vicious bloodlust is satiated. Often, goblins will bully anything they perceive as weaker than themselves, inflating their own ego with sharp words, tearing down others with a sense of twisted joy. At their best goblins are tenacious survivalists of civilization, finding new ways to accomplish what their larger, less monstrous neighbors have been unable to. Goblin ingenuity is a dangerous and brilliant thing to behold.

Of all the monstrous humanoids, goblins are the most likely to make themselves part of the civilizations of other races. Indeed, goblins are found at the edges of almost all civilizations of the world: in some lands their presence is even welcomed; in others, greeted with steel.
