On Alawan
Sitting on the back of his mother's wagon, he heard a hoot of triumph. Looking up from his book slowly, he saw the young man who was tagging along with them.

Dragging a deer carcass behind him, Alawan shouted: "hey Blake! Dinner will be done real soon!"

The boy was good with his bow; he had to admit that. Maybe a little loud, maybe a little stiff, but Blake liked him.
Probably without this young boy, they would have all died. Watching the youngster clean the deer meat, he decided that he would be as loyal to Alawan, as he was to Blake.
