The Dark Sea's Rage
Journal 09 of the Fellowship Of The Dark Shards.
I had never traveled by boat before. I may never again.

I had always heard of the large bodies of water known as seas; supposedly so vast that you cannot even see the other side. Unfortunately, due to my recent brush with blindness, I was unable to witness it. I was able to sense it’s vastness, but unable to actually enjoy it.

In fact I did anything but enjoy it.

The sea itself seemed to come up and rise against us in our seemingly short journey. Large waves came up, throwing our ship to and fro, trying to send us to the bottom of the great body of water. It got to be so bad that we had to tie ourselves to the rails of the boat, just to keep from falling over the side.

We lost our Captain, as he spent so much time making sure that we were tied to the rail well, that he failed to secure himself properly. I saw him going over, but was unable to untie myself in time to grab him from flying over the side.

It didn’t matter much in the end, so I can’t feel too bad about it, as the boat capsized just moments later, sending us into the sea.

We awoke sometimes later, thankfully washed up on this shore. It seems Arilyn lost half of her prize. It’s unfortunately, but luckily that’s all she lost. Arangil lost his spell books, leaving him debilitated. I’m just thankful that something guided us to this shore, wherever it may be.
