We have now left the cold north and returned to the elven lands. I took great delight in showing the bounty of nature produced in the more temperate areas to our friend Anwar. I made her sample nearly everything in The Market. She was especially enjoying the fruit. It was at this point that an half-elf approached Anwar and I. After encountering such a great deal of human/elf discrimination I was hesitant at his desire to speak with Anwar. Upon questioning his reasons, he introduced himself as Aeric and stated he was searching for a human by the name of Jacques. Considering Jacques lack of knowledge of his past, I declined to give this Aeric any information but asked him to meet us at an Inn a short distance from the one we were staying at. I returned to our inn and informed Jacques of our encounter and he immediately jumped from his seat in the tree and ran to meet him.
The good point of this encounter is that Jacques learned much of his past. The bad point is that Aeric was followed by a woman called Veridean, who, I believe was seeking to be destroyed by Aeric. With great difficulty we defeated, but nearly at the loss of Islan, or his leg, as she tried to take the crystal he carried. |
