| Always check for secondary traps |
Down we went into the tunnel. I went first to check the trap I disabled. It was intact so I decided to take it with me in case I can use it. Tenedos followed next and then the others. I was such a fool I didnt think to check for a second trap. I felt the floor drop slightly then spikes shot out from the wall. I tried to dodge them but one caught my shoulder and immediately I felt the poison take its toll.
Great thats all I need. Now that the trap was tripped the others just had to slip through without touching the spikes. Almost everyone made it through but I wont mention names. The room inside was interesting to say the least. At the far end were three things of interest. At each end of the wall there were curtains of expensive material. I cant believe I forgot to grab those on the way out. The third thing was a pedestal shaped like an aboleth that held an evil looking tome. I approached the right curtain while Hunter approached the other...thats when I heard the noise. I dont know what really happened the next few moments I for some reason took a swing at Groehl then just say there mumbling to myself. It must have been the creatures that came out of the curtains. Three masses of goo covered with eyes and mouths.
I truly hate these creatures. Every new one I see makes me hate them even more. The masses came right at us sometimes spewing slime that if it hit you in the eye it would temporarily blind you. Something to remember for the future. It took a bit but we finally killed them off. Hunter was actually firing arrows while blind. I cant believe he still hit his targets. Now to search the room. |
