Defending The Boundary
I opened my eyes after diving into the colorful wave. I probably should not have leapt down the slope right after Nyran. I think I woulda had a better chance of getting the crystal. Oh well, too late now. I was happy Anwar got it.

I don’t know how I ended up in a tavern. After walking through the rooms, I somehow made it outside. There, I found Horus. Islan showed up pretty quickly after. He tried to explain that we can somewhat mold this world with our thoughts. Sounds like a neat theory, but I didn’t really succeed. Instead, I just gave myself a headache.

Soon enough though, we were all reunited. Even Elana, and we though we’d never find her. Well, except for Nyran. Islan thought he envisioned him in big trouble, but we hoped to find him quickly. Of course, immediately after we got to deal with the horde of salads. Ugh. Slaads. I remembered those. I hadn’t realized that they came in variety though. And those blue guys were mean sonsa- well, you get the point.

At least they were a ways out. Let Anwar and Horus take’em down a coupla pegs before we clashed. But I still got hit. A lot. Hit really hard too. It hurt. It was most certainly not pleasant. So I did what any sane fighter in my boots would do. “Elana! It hurts!”

She did the strangest thing. She looked at me and smiled. “Oh you’ll get yours soon dearie. “Huh? Elana had been acting weird ever since we found her. But dearie? Elana does NOT talk like that. Then I saw an arrow wiz by and embed itself in Elana. I looked to where the shot came from. Anwar? What’s going on? It was then I heard a voice hiss behind me. “You’re going to pay for that. You just cost your friend her life.” Turning my attention back to Elana, I was quite suprised to meet the back of her hand. If she packed that type of wallop all the time, I’d be the one casting healing magics. It was enough for the darkness to close in.

Upon waking, I found myself in a serene, leafy grove. We found out that the druids had created this place, within the chaos. They had been attempting to close the rift for decades. And then they showed us the orb.

In a clearing, a group of druids sat. They were motionless, just focusing all their attention into this, this thingie. They were most interested when I exposed the SoulBlade. Then they invited me into the circle.

Ok, I’ll admit I was somewhat skeptical. Not to mention that staring into a glass ball can be damn boring. But quickly I started noticing things. Like how the others in the circle would know my thoughts almost before I had thought them! Their thoughts back to me went something along the lines of, “No, you cannot fix this type of tear with an exceptionally large needle. Don’t you think we’ve tried that before?” And, “Stop. Humming.”

It was suggested that our whole group work together to close up the tear while the druids work to hold up the boundaries of the shield they created. We worked for I don’t know how long. And then just suddenly, it was like, I got the feeling that we couldn’t do anything else to help here. I crashed into awareness, absolutely drenched in sweat, but still being in the circle I immediately realized that some of the barrier had fallen and there were lots of really pissed off creatures roaming around this safe haven. After a quick discussion, it was decided that Islan would stay in the circle while the rest of us fought the beasties.

Looking back on it now, I think I should have stayed behind. I could have kept the boundary up by myself and that would have meant more people to fight. Not to mention that, and Goddess in a box I hate to admit this, but Islan was better at fighting the damn things than I was. But you'll never hear those words pass my lips. In the end it didn’t matter anyway. We killed the chieftain, the one that had been messing with us, pretending to be Elana.

Then Islan comes running up. He was yelling about how the boundary failed. It just went away. There was nothing that could be done about it. It was just gone.

So not good.

The battle was raging on around us. But before we had a chance to dive back in, the white wave was again upon us.
