Dragons learned their language from fire spirits long ago. Though elegant and twisting in sound, the letters often look like scratches and rents in stone as if from a mighty claw. Often dragon kind would melt various metals with fire and fill the scratches, creating glittering walls of gold and silver. To the ear their language is heavy on lilting twists, sudden consonants, and breathy phrases formed by subtle uses of their supernatural ability to use their breath weapon.
Anywhere dragons can be found draconic is used as the “high” tongue of a land, usually magiocracies and cultures with a strong magical presence.
