Peak Hunter Uses The Whole Tree
We journey to Hobbes End and find a door leading to an underground ship.
I started out the day recovering from the many blessings that I had received the night before. It was obvious from my righteous state that I couldn’t remember much from the night before because my acts for Throrn had caused a haze to flow over the evenings events. In fact, most of the morning in which I spent in prayer to Throrn I thanked him for the moments in battle that truly brought worth to celebrating a victory in battle… also, I thanked for the time I was able to share with Jas and asked that his Pick continue to watch over my fallen dwarven friend.

After collecting myself I joined the group outside to witness the black order walking away with what appeared to be the sword we found off of the red haired man who bore the symbol of the Aboleth. Granted in my state I could have been mistaken but the group affirmed my thoughts so we went to ask the keeper of the Haladros um… shack what he had done with the item. He later revealed after some coaxing that the order gave him information about the Aboleth in return for the sword. I thought personally that he got the short end of the stick but after he told us a means to getting to the Aboleths without having to go under water I quickly changed my opinion.

With the new information in hand we headed towards Hobbe’s End to pursue the clues that had just been given us. Tenedos suggested that we travel to the Sign of the Turtle which was the bar that he had found the red haired ruffian earlier in the week. We all agreed on this plan and made our way there. Upon reaching the back of the shop my brother and Tenedos proceeded to mess around in the back of the shop. Myself, Gim, and Hunter the new Giant Ranger we met in a bar decided that to appease our boredom we’d try and get a drink inside the bar. We knocked on the door and to our surprise a slot on the door opened with a man saying the bar was closed. After some rude comments from Hunter the bartender waved a wand at us in a threatening manner. I figured that since we were in a poorer end of town that it wounded be frowned upon if we just tried barging in. So, I placed a strength potion on my two companions and they proceeded by slamming their bodies into the door. To my surprise the door didn’t budge at all and after a simple spell I realized it had a magical lock placed on it.

After this attempt at gaining entrance the bartender grew angered and sent a bolt of lightning towards Hunter. At first I muffled a laugh since we sort of deserved the shock since we were barging in unannounced but when I saw Hunter grab the tree trunk off his back and fire away a large branch inside I knew that he’d need some help. With a loud “thump” followed by a grown the bartender seemed to be hurting. Again my laughter was muffled but this time by my amazement of the new friend we just made. I quickly ran into battle to heal him of the wound but just as soon as I healed him he fired another branch into the room which apparently killed the bartender since I heard no more mutterings or movement of any kind.

It was at this moment that I started to wonder where my brother was and started to ask if he got safely inside in a moderately quiet voice. Gim and Hunter joined in with less than moderate voices which led me to believe that if our presence wasn’t known before than it most certainly was know. Eventually Tenedos let us into the room and we were able to search around and find a symbol of Aboleth along with a room with a trap door. Myself, Gim and Hunter tried our hardest to open the door that obviously had been magically locked as well. Twenty minutes later into prying with a crowbar we were finally able to unlock the door. It was at this time that I saw Tenedos grabbing some coin from where the bartender kept the bar’s money. I stopped him from taking some for himself but he is human and I imagine the thought would cross his mind again.

We decided to split the money later and continue our journey down the trap door but for now whatever lies beneath will have to answer to Throrn!
