The giants quickly fell to our blades, even when they doubled their numbers with reinforcements their fates were sealed. Once the last one fell we quickly moved the present captives up into the secret entrance and we moved on.
The rest of the cave was empty, we had apparently killed every giant that had been in here. I took the opportunity to scout out the entrance and I was less than pleased with what I found. The area outside was devoid of cover and the only building near to us was a large meeting hall. Gim volunteered to shape shift into a wolf and scout aroung, Grokbuk sent his wolf along as well.
After a few minutes Grokbuk teleported out of the cave and then back again with terrible news. It truth it was hard to understand at first, his poor Common makes his words difficult to follow but he got the point across. The ogre mages had gathered in the meeting house and were summoning a demon. Gim had arrived by then and confirmed the same adding what he saw as well.
We argued for a few moments about how to handle this, in the end deciding that we had to face the mages and possibly the demon now otherwise we would be at a serious disadvantage later. Surprisingly it was Grokbuk who came up with the plan, and whats more amazing is we all listened to him. Clever little goblin.
Grokbuk would use some sort of magic to open the door to the house which would cause a bright flash. At that signal we would rush the building. We lined up with me in front so I could watch and remain unseen from any one else. The moments pass. The flash and the charge begins. |
