The battle with the sea monster was a fierce one. After Kano finished off the beast I was quickly feeling its poison overtaking my body. Both Rorrin and Lochlan looked as though they too were feeling the same effects. I convinced Maddy to user her last two curing spells to heal both of them and I would have to wait for the morning to come. Reluctantly I trudged off after Maddy, afraid of what this night would bring. Not long into the journey the poison took full hold of my being and I was transformed into the same horrible abomination we fought before. It was a sleepless night; Maddy was quite disconcerting as she would sleep with her eyes open staring directly at me. Afraid for my own life, I kept watch most of the night; each time I felt as though I would dose off, the feeling of drowning surged through my body causing me to feel ill. At dawn Maddy prayed for her spells and released me from this watery torture (though I would not phrase it so to Maddy).
Soon we shall be rid of this place and its watery perils, and not a moment too soon; I can't wait to reach the security of the mountain. |
