The Unholy Dark
So very tired
My friends have decided to join up with an adventuring guild. While I dont see much point in joining a guild to go on an "adventure" Rorrin is positive that its a good thing, and I have come to trust his good nature and judgment. I was feeling kind of down after sending Kano off on his own when I found out that our first mission would take us to a grove of druids underneath the mountain! I was once again in good spirits as we set off on this new quest, very soon after entering the old city we stumbled and I mean literally almost stumbled over a strange creature disguising itself as a lump of rocks. I was every excited when I heard it speak but it seemed to be only interested in us paying it money to pass by it... Strange that a creature of the earth is so interested in hording money all since seemingly it has no way to spend such gain. Looking past it though I noticed that indeed it did have a large store of treasure but what peeked my interested lay behind it. Looking in the corner a saw a large brown bear, obviously hurt and bleeding. I asked the creature what it was doing with the bear and it responded that it was food, then demanding that I pay it money to pass. I plainly stated that I had no money, so I saw no way of paying the fee. However, had no quarrel against the creature and would appreciate it if he let me pass anyway. Groehl quickly ended any question of us getting past this creature peacefully by bribing him with a shiny jewel and then withdrawing it from him once he got the information he desired. The creature stood little chance against us and was quickly defeated.

After using some of my healing on the bear I was able to help him back to his feet and found his name to be Koden. He told me that he was sent by the druids in the grove to get help and that he would help guide us back there if we had come to help. I stated that we would love to help out and so off we went deeper into the darkness. Along the way we found strange large bugs that we had to fight off. Koden proved to be an incredible ally to us in the fight as he used his size and strength to defend us in the fight. We went through to the next room and found a strange door, I listened at the door to see if anything was on the other side but found all to be quite on the other side. Just then Hunter banged on the door very loudly, I couldnt help but feel this was not the best course of action. Hunter sometimes does things very differently than others would hope he would. I wonder if he just feels uncomfortable at times being so different than the rest of us.

As predicted the door was shut for a reason. As it opened horrible reanimated dwarven figures appeared from behind it and jumped to attack us. Tenedos charged forward to take advantage of the ghasts being funneled into such a small hallway however he was quickly overrun by their numbers and horrible smell. Rorrin ran up to save him and seemed to do some damage to the creatures, however he too found himself paralyzed by the creatures. At some point during the fight we all found ourselves suffering from various ill effects of these terrible monsters of the unholy dark. After a long battle we final turned the tide of the fight and found back the dead.

We decided to rest for a night since the fight has taken up so much of our strength, little did we know there would be no rest for us this night. Derrinar, feeling uneasy in the night woke Rorrin and me to see if we too felt the strange sensation of being watched. Rorrin said he saw nothing and I cant see in the dark so I was of little help. However, when I laid my head down on the ground I heard the sounds of something walking toward us. I told my friends and they proceeded to wake Kambei up just in case. We left Tenedos to sleep since he needed his rest so badly, and Hunter doesnt always act gracefully in these tense situations so we let them rest. Soon we saw a strange green glow from behind the door, and much to our dismay we found another giant undead creature coming to destroy us. We roused everyone with a start and began to fight this horrible creature. I was so tired I was not able to transform to my bear form or cast the needed spells to protect myself from the creature but I did the best that I could. Rorrin and Kambei began attacking each other at the sight of this creature so I decided Koden would subdue Rorrin since he can be very deadly in a fight. Hunter tackled Kambei to protect Rorrin and I rushed head long into the fight. I didnt know what else to do but to go toe to toe with the monster, I grit my teeth, cast a small spell to generate fire in my bare hand and decided that if I could buy enough time for Rorrin and Kambei to come out of this madness that I could at least save a few of my friends. I reached out to grab hold of the creature and set it ablaze. It howled in terror and turned its attention to me, I remember little after that. I awoke to Derrinar standing behind me casting a healing spell on me; my head ached as I felt the blood streaming down my face. I saw the creature standing above me, reaching out I grabbed onto its ankles from my prone position. Again it reared back at me and all went black. I awoke again to another heal from Derrinar, I could tell by the look on his face that he doubted what he was healing was alive at all. Sprawling out I again took hold of the monster, at this point I couldnt tell if I was even making a difference in the fight. What I remember after that makes no sense to me. As my eyes swelled shut I could see Tenedos standing over me in the ghastly green light calling for the monster to attack him instead. I looked to Derrinar who had again healed me with a questioning look as to how much more I could endure, I shook my head at him, he knew I didnt wish to be healed again, the pain was more torture than I could handle. I looked behind me; Hunter was laying face down on the ground. As all was going black I saw Koden charging forward. I remember nothing else of the fight. I woke moments ago and decided to write my impressions down, perhaps some of this was only a dream but I can feel the torn cuts on my face and chest, I dont know how we survived but Im so tired, so weak, I feel as though my very soul has been torn away. I must rest...so tired....so cold...
