Another Dozen Bites The Dust
It seems the Deeper we Delve the nastier it gets....
King Dunthin Grand Horn II,

My lord, you will be pleased to learn that the temples of the Artificer are still loyal to their soverign home of Citadel. They preformed a great service to myself and my companions today. Took good care of us after that nasty wearhouse. We informed the cleric, nice chap but a bit dim in the goings on of Atma, that we intended to go and rescue the dwarves being held hostage in the mines. I do have to say that I was right surprised to see Protos prostrate himself at the temple to try to obtain the cleric's help at the mine. What, he, Protos is... well it's a mystery to me. One moment he's naive as a dwarfling eee is but then... well eee's down right Paladonic if ya understand what I'm sayin. Told the cleric the kidnappers of the dwarves would be brought to justice eee did.

So, the next day we traveled from early morning bound for the encampment of to Norin Mining Guild outside of Atma. It was a long slow trek. Cidra wasn't quite used to such feats of physical exertion, but she was stouter than I had previously credited her for. Most unusual.

When we arived at the mine Garrett and Obtenibrous noticed two " City Guardsman" in front of the door. They also noticed that they were dressed slopily and that they were really kidnappers in desguise. So the two masters of stealth crept up behind them and were supposed to signal us when ready to charge. Aparently we misse dthe signal but Cidra caught it and told us to attack. Right embarasing that was, told to go fight by a runt while she stayed behind. Got me all flustered she did and I couldn't so much as put hammer to anvil, couldn't hit a gal dirn thing. Luckily the other three got em good while Cidra stood from a safe distance and watched... Never even tried to help. True cowardice it was. Once inside the mine I was engulfed with my anger I stormed through the hall like a whirl wind. I came down the stairs to the final staging point for the mine to find arrows whizzing by my head. I ran at the thief and placed the barb of my shield through the studed leather armor covering his chest. I mannaged to knock the bloke down the stairs, never new what hit em. I quickly followed to make sure that the bastard was finnished before he got his feet. I charged him while still colecting himself from the skillfully hewn granite stairs. My axe met his neck where it joins his shoulders and severed his head clean in one pass.

I continued on through the hall until I reached a great chamber. Inside were four more of the imposters lying in wait for me. Next thing I know it's the sound of an arrow striking my shoulder, then another, and another, and again, and so on... Seven arrows I have embedded in my torso and my rage overwhelms me. I attack the closest first and bashe him a good one. He drops his bow and tries his short sword but it glances off my sheild. Here is where I take two more arrows in the back. Seeing this, Protos charged the two behind me and Obtenibrous came to aid me. There was an exchange of glancing blows before I saw that Protos was overwhelmed and Garrett had gone to the far side of the cave only to dissapear into the shaddows from my gaze. I trust Obtenibrous to finish this one and move to face the Captain of our enemy with Protos. Protos is truely amazing to watch in battle. He doesn't crush his opponents but rather takes the brunt of the beating and shrugs it off, always giving a little better than he gets. we strike the Captain again and again but he's no pansy pants and could really deliver the pain with his two short swords. I was beginning to look alot like a very bloody squeazle ( For those that are unfamiliar with dwarven slang a Squeazle is another name for the dire porcupine sometimes kept as pets by dwarves in the hills surrounding Citadel) and was none to happy about it.

It was then I heard a cry from behind me and saw that the shaddow elf was slumped on the floor holding his ribs. I charged. Shaddow elf or not you'll not kill my alie while down! I hit em a good one right in the spine and then Cidra tried to steal my kill. Finally entering the fray after dawdling in the hall her first attack nearly hit me in the face and caught a stalagmite instead. I told her to go help Garrett and turned my attention to one more swing of the axe. As the rouges body fell to the floor nearly cleaved in two Obtenibrous made his escape to the hall on the fringe of conciousness.

Protoss was barely holding his own with the others so I dove back in and removed the leaders leg at the knee. My axe had so much force that it carried through and stopped abrubptly on the armor of the other kidnapper near by. He hit me a good one and then Protos whalloped him to the ground. After this we found Garrett a bit worse for the ware and Protos Layed his hands upon him and his wounds healed. Miraculous as it may sound I think this warrior carries the favor of a god! He will undoubtedly prove an ireplacable friend. Most of the Kidnappers survived and will be turned over to the athorities promptly once we have seen to the safety of the hostages and the burial of the dwarves that fell in defense of their mine. There were many lives lost to the hands of these scoundrels and we'll be traveling to the theatre district, or rather it's sewers to find the source of these vermin. Towmorrow we will travle back to the themple of the artificer and will drop these critons with the city guard to be delt with.

It is now that I humbly ask for your aid sire on behalf of the dwarven quarter of Citadel.
Geirrod DarkHelm, Helcar Urkmen, Brathul Orbi would make an excellent dispatch sire and upon their arrival and stationed guard over these dwarf folk I can return to Citadel with your package.

Ever your humble servent,

Sergeant Grimgore Axehand
