Allies, Clues, And Betrayal
I guess the church of Lurl holds a grudge.
After weeks at see, and a nasty battle with some elementals, we have reached Baratoria. The Captain anchored the ship on the northern arm of the island avoiding the port fees, a shrewd choice though I some of the crew werent too happy. Some of the crew were less happy than others, Ill get to that later.

Our walk to Baratoria was a simple one being it was low tide, and it gave us a chance to observe some of the local religious groups. Wierd buggers if you ask me, I just don't understand their place in all this. They seem to be rebuilding and maintaining the town, but they ask for no compensation nor even thanks. I don't trust em, but its my nature not to trust anyone.

Upon reaching the town I immediately saw I was gonna like this place. Plenty of opportunities could be found in a city like this, honest or a dodgy. Tenedos shares my oppinion on this, we conversed briefly on this though I know Groehl will not be pleased. Sorry brother.

As we made our way to an inn we passed a temple of Lerl, but luckily nothing came of it except a short conversation with a green elf like fellow. After avoiding trouble there we found our inn and set about gathering some information. The others were a bit obvious about this making more of a scene than learning anything, but I was able use the distraction to my advantage.

The only real information I learned was meeting a strange human named Hitu. Apparently he was kidnapped while studying magic in his homeland, and woke in a backroom here in Baratoria. After he fought his way out he has been just staying alive. I bought him a meal and drink and he is currently accompanying us. I thought his circumstances may tie into some of the strange kidnappings we have been dealing with, but we were interrupted first.

I knew Talbot was not to be trusted. We were visited by servents of Lerl at our inn, more thugs than anything else. Apparently someone informed them of our encounter with Maddy and her ultimate death at our hands. I asked if they knew a Talbot and though he denied it I saw him hesitate. Talbot will pay for this betrayal. I guess things here are going to be even more interesting than I thought
