Thorian Beck

Monk of Thurn, youngest brother to Rorrin and Groehl Beck

The youngest of the Beck family, Thorian was a spitting image of his father Volker except he had the wisdom of his mother. Thorian was considered a kid at his age but with his size he was never picked on by his other brothers Rorrin and Groehl. His uncommon strength was his crutch when he was younger but his father rarely let him get away with abusing his abilities and often pushed him in school much like Groehl to focus on his Wisdom.

With his Groehl away at school and Rorrin training with a rogue Volker gave Thorium the brunt of his discipline which had an effect early on with him pushing him to become a well rounded student of the great dwarven Monk, Krom’Gul. Eventually, Thorian grew tired of the rules that had been set before him by Krom’Gul and Volker and left the Gro’Gahn Academy to pursue a more unruly lifestyle.

Whether Thorian was aware of it or not his father had been trying to steer his son clear of the mercantile lifestyle that he grew up in but against all his efforts Thorian enlisted under a different kind of organization than the rest of his family. Thorian pledged himself to Thurn while Rorrin and Groehl were still gone away.

When the brother’s finally returned Volker couldn’t bare to tell his sons the sad news and instead told them he had been killed during a mercantile mission. Groehl vowed to always fight for the glory that his brother had missed out on while Rorrin never truly expressed how deeply the news affected him but rather followed along with Groehl on mission after mission to replace the part of him that had been lost that day.

Ultimately, his loyalties with his family have been broken and he has chosen a life of greed and dishonorable glory. Thorian serves Thurn to this day and occasionally is sent on mercantile missions to sabotage churches of Throrn by burning them and killing the followers in Citadel.
