Arghh, A Privateer's Life For Me!
Our introduction to the crew of a pirate ship captained by a Dwarf named Stoner.
After finally defeating the evil Maddy we exited her house only to find ourselves in more trouble once we walked outside. Grizzlegast always has a way of proving his usefulness in combat and then his uselessness afterwards. I myself didn’t display much tact when walking either but I was so used to the squeaking that my armor used to make that I think I started to make a creaking noise with my mouth as I walked. Either way the pirates (Or what I later learned to be “Privateers”) took us captive.

The elf who seemed to be the man in charge or at least the man in charge at the moment was named Athanar. I was able to realize that he was a spell caster...maybe this was obvious so some since he was threatening us with a wand but little did some know that some clerics can cast evil spells with wands as well. I wasn’t really worried about the mage but his companion who appeared to be monstrous was named Elgoroth. His height worried me more than anything else since I wouldn’t know where to start fighting him...other than hacking at his legs and working my way up.

Athanar quickly took us to meet the Captain. In the room with him was a female human pouring over the map named Arcelia and an older gentleman named Talbot. The Captain introduced himself as Captain Stoner and by the scruff of his beard I could tell he’d at least be honest with us even if he didn’t work in an honest business. He took one glance at Lochlan’s armor and told us that he didn’t realize his brother’s armor was to be worn like a trophy. We had just taken the armor from a dead dwarf in the caves and knew that this looked bad for us. Gim quickly chymed in and thoroughly... and I mean thoroughly explained in great depth our reason’s for going to Raven’s Lake, about Huck and his horrible skin collection, about the Abeloth that lived within, the townsfolk being mind-controlled, the smell of Maddy’s skin under the cold light of the moon, the way she would gently cast a spell on him while whispering sweet nothings in his ear, and it was about this point the Captain stopped him and let me finish the story. I think he believed us that his brother was being controlled by the Abeloth but he needed a little time to make sure of our story. So, Athanar kept us in a cell for the night underneath the ship. This didn’t make me feel welcomed nor did it settle my stomach from the rocking of the boat but I knew that the truth would set us free, so long as I put my faith in Throrn.

The next day we were led out of our room’s much like traitor’s or those about ready to be hung. I felt...but only for a moment that perhaps either the “privateers” were untruthful or that Maddy’s remains had been moved. Just as they were about to kill us they revealed a few jugs of ale and told us that they knew we had sent off Stoner’s brother to a better place. Just then a large Half-Orc named Garlon began singing a deep song that put me off at first but began to grow on me after a few Elven ale’s passed through my system. A party soon commenced and me, Lochlan, and Rorrin began to enjoy the festivities. Jas sat in the corner barely talking to Talbot while Gim smiled as he and an engineer named Gaubolt seemed to be hatching some sort of scheme. I was so blessed that night I even found myself attracted to the beard-less Arcelia but I kept my mind and didn’t embarrass myself with petty conversation. Again my brother failed to interact with anyone on the ship but I suppose that’s his way.

In the morning, we started out by praying for Throrn to relieve my blessing and grant me my daily spells. Soon thereafter we headed out to talk to Stoner who made us an offer to go to a secret island named Baratoria to look for more information about this Abeloth. Stoner had this coin that resembled the creature we spoke of... and he acquired this coin from the town he was looking to take us to. This intrigued us greatly to the point that we agreed to venture there with them on this ship. This would mean putting off our return to Cobblepot and the journey home to Citadel but it’d be worth it for the glory and honor of Throrn!
